Christeyns is a Belgian detergents and chemicals group, with activities in a range of markets, completely focused on a B-2-B environment. The company has been transformed from a local business into a modern, professionally managed operation still privately owned by an entrepreneur. Head office of the company is located in Ghent, Belgium, the group employs about 800 people in companies spread across 30 countries. In the last 15 years Christeyns has enjoyed a rapid growth of about 20% per year, and now has a consolidated turnover of about 330 million Euro.

Christeyns became the market leader in Europe, supplying detergents, disinfectants and equipment to industrial laundries, in-house laundries and dry & wet cleaning chains. To increase the level of quality, Christeyns started a more then 4 Million Euro operation in Hungary for the development and manufacturing of our equipment for our professional laundry division.

In order to support further growth, Christeyns is looking for a:

Engineering and Operations Manager

Job description

First and foremost, you will take the lead in the development of our dosing equipment and spare parts within our Budapest plant. Gradually you develop into the lead position of our International Engineering Team, working closely together with the engineering teams in various countries. You gather market intelligence and information on new developments on the market, translate them into new concepts and present them to our core team of selected engineers.
You manage to find or to produce the best components for our engineering material, including pumps, plc’s, valves, dosing equipment You guarantee the supply of our various products at a very competitive price, meeting the highest quality standards.
You are working closely together with the headquarters in Ghent. You ensure in-depth information on technical manuals, features, maintenance manuals and prices for the Marketing Department. Together with the Christeyns Academy you develop necessary training courses for you internal and external customers, 3rd party companies, ….
You have an overall responsibility for our development and production operation, managing about 10 people, likely to double to 22 people within a few years.
You report directly to the Managing Director Hungary.

Your profile

Candidates must have a Master Degree combined with a solid technical background.
You have at least 10 years of experience in manufacturing.
You have an experience in managing a team for about 5 years or more.
You have a solid knowledge of English, written and verbally, enabling you to develop contacts on group level. (training, reporting,...)
You are ready to travel throughout Europe with overnight stays as required.
